Rural conversions

Normandy, France
This dilapidated chicken coop with bread oven was converted to a three bedroom bunk house, sleeping 5 people with a walk-in wet room and bathroom and a living space downstairs. The bread oven was restored to use with the help of local artisans, in keeping with the original design.
In keeping with the local area, the thatch roof was redone, perfectly combining tradition, function and modernity.

Barn conversion to apartment

The before and after:

  • This portion of the house was being used as a piggery and duck barn.
  • The existing openings were reused and by putting french doors in we were able to keep the space bright. Now a standalone one bedroom apartment with large living space.

Traditional single storey Gascony farm house renovation

  • The farmhouse before the project began
  • Addition of multiple windows, including French doors and skylight to bring light to the newly created mezzanine

Pigeonnier (dovecote) converted to living space

  • The dovecote in its original state
  • Once finished, the many windows brought light into the space and allowed the owners to enjoy the surrounding views.
